Why Applocking software isn't useful

I'm publishing this post to state a few points to say that on Android Applocking software should not be trusted. On Android versions 4.1+ Android features a feature called Safe-Mode that disables all third party applications that are on the device, to include KIK, GTA VC, Hulu Plus, and Applock. Even when the you grant Applock device administration you still can bypass Applock by simply booting into Safe-Mode and deactivating device administration, this is a problem because any Applocking software can be disabled!

Also, owners of devices with unlocked bootloaders can be at risk of all security measures before encryption can be disabled! Simply flashing the appropriate TWRP recovery for your device or by using a recovery or .zip with a file manager is at risk of data being stolen if lost or stolen. If you boot the device into recovery and navigate to data/system and delete locksettings.db and all files called locksettings and delete gesture.key and password.key or .db. Then reboot then you should have an unlocked device!

ALL MODIFICATIONS ARE DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Keep in mind that I'm on an AOSP ROM so your steps may vary!

Why the Nexus 7 is the best 7" tablet.

The Nexus 7 is described as powerful and the best bang for buck. Many users describe the Nexus 7 as being exactly that, a device with a budget price and having lots of SPEED and not to mention always having the latest major Android release.

The Nexus 7 (2012) offers a nVidia Tegra 3 CPU which in 2012 the Tegra 3 chipset was arguably the most talked about chipset but without LTE it was a drawback to Qualcomm S4. I can't give my opinion to the Nexus 7 (2013) as I don't own this model but I do intend on upgrading only for the unlocked LTE, which by the way is making my mouth water and the HSPA+ with S4 Pro the icing on the cake. I do like tablet however, it has very poor NAND chips that frequently need TRIM to run on them to keep the buttery smooth performance. Also, I recommend Paranoid Android with the Franco Kernel for the best performance and battery life combo. While I still like my One XL I do think about getting a LTE Nexus 7 and use that because KIK is being used more often than the stock messaging app. Also, KIT KAT is going to be a tasty update that I believe should be given to the Nexus S as a bed for it to rest.

Why iOS lags behind Android

You know this war still exist but I still feel that after leaving my YouTube channel to collect dust for a while I still feel iOS lags behind Android in a few categories that mean a lot whether that be in speed or security.
When rooting Android your device is safer in malware attacks. With a jaikbrooken iOS device you must worry about your root password but as with ANY UNIX OS you must worry about protecting your root directory but I and many others feel that with tools such as SuperSU and SuperUser Android just does protection much better and without emulation of root rights.
Android thanks to it being open source and having a debugging bridge exploiting the OS of the device is possible much sooner than iOS.
iOS does a piss poor management of RAM leading to random slow downs and high battery usage. Unused RAM is wasted RAM but thanks to Apple launching iOS 6 memory leaks are much more prominent and consistent in times when a phone needs to be just that a phone.
Android thanks to the Different Screen Size API applications coded for a Nexus S can work the same on Galaxy Tab 10.1 .
Things such as native hardware acceleration was adopted with Android in 2011 in ICS (First seen in HoneyComb but wasn't automatically enabled). Apple hasn't incorporated this because in my opinion because when a device slows down they want you to buy a new one.
iOS devices (Newer) when jailbroken still can't overclock or use custom kernels.
Phone calls on my iPhone 4 were excellent but when I started using it more I was reached but the fatal flaw on the Audio IC which still is plaguing iPhones today.
I have nothing against Apple or iOS I just feel that owning an iPhone myself Android has better demonstrated a faster and more fluid UI and much higher consistency.

Nexus 7 LAG FIX

The 2012 Nexus 7 is a little over a year old and many users often complain about massive LAG in the UI and using applications. Before their were only 2 solutions and both of them involved removing data from the device, factory reset, and deleting items when the onboard storage reaches below 3GB. The problem can be fixed by running TRIM which is run automatically in Android 4.3, but if you don't want to update you can try can awesome app that can run TRIM automatically or on demand and that app is called LAGFIX(fstrim).

TRIM wipes block data that the storage no longer uses. Another thing is think about is, can an iOS device run TRIM? Or does Apple not allow TRIM so you can feel like you NEED to upgrade your slow device? Android on the other hand isn't like this. I think that's another piece of information that Android is more advanced than iOS. Period.

T-Mobile 1900MHZ HSPA(+)

For a while now T-Mobile has running their new 1900 MHZ network to target AT&T users because all new devices have the 1900 MHZ PCS band so T-Mobile can give HSPA service to devices without the 1700/2100 MHZ bands.

T-Mobile has been covering Washington DC with 1900 MHZ since the day it was launched and yes did I get excellent speeds with the compromise of coverage, meaning that due to lack of coverage 1900 MHZ can reach my speeds were lowered to EDGE in buildings and received numerous dropped calls. But, let's look at the history behind 1900 MHZ, the band was originally used by AT&T (still is today) to provide GSM/UMTS to their customers so this band is the reason why AT&T earned it's reputation back then as having the spottiest coverage in the US. So to keep it's customers AT&T did a 850 MHZ refarm, similar to what T-Mobile is doing but T-Mobile is doing this at a slower rate due to not having the money to deploy spectrum in every market. But if you would still like to try out T-Mobile's 1900 MHZ network you can do so for less than 40 dollars and use this as an on demand service or use it for primary uses.

If you would still like to test out T-Mobile's new 1900 MHZ network I'd recommend using a device like the Nexus 4 or a device with 1700/2100 MHZ bands as T-Mobile non 1900 MHZ network is AWS so you need both 1700/2100 MHZ bands to get T-Mobile HSPA when not covered by 1900 MHZ. But if you live in an LTE market, I'm pretty sure the super fast LTE speeds will compensate for the lack of 1900 MHZ coverage.

What iWant for iOS 7/iPhone 5S

Right now iOS 7 is in beta stage and I have tested out a few webapps that I've made and they work flawlessly but that's besides the point. iOS 7 right now all I think about it as just eye candy I like all of the icons but I feel that iOS 7 is missing somethings. I know iOS 7 is in beta....

1.  NFC support for the iPhone 5S and maybe a case or dongle to allow NFC support for the previous iPhones.
2. AirDrop for all iPhones and iPads. Apple is notorious for leaving out features in newer iOS versions for only new iOS devices. Can't say the same thing about any Nexus.
3. A debugging bridge to issue out root commands or get a logcat to diagnose the problems.
4. Faster and more fluid transitions on iOS 7. Seriously Apple the transitions take WAY to long and need to be more fluid.
5. At least a quad core CPU if Apple can do it make your own CPU but I want to go with what I know is good but doesn't exist A S4 PRO CPU & PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU. That will murder the benchmarks.
6. Category 4 LTE equipment to boost LTE speeds past 100Mbps.
7. Native Hardware acceleration in the SpringBoard and maybe in applications. (Sorry Devs :( )

Why Tegra 3 OC isn't needed

Sorry viewers :( I abandoned my blog after less than 6 months of usage however, I haven't realized the important message the blog has had and it's own importance to me in spreading the word about things that some may say meh it doesn't matter or things like WOW that simply rocks.

So, many devices like HTC's previous flagship the ONE X (Endeavor) or Google's own Nexus 7 feature the Tegra 3 chipset and I feel that it simply doesn't need to be overclocked. For example, we can overclock the Nexus 7 up to 1.7GHZ yet, to see our benchmark scores go up a few FPS or shave .001 of a second from app launches but honestly I feel it's just not needed for a Quad core CPU and 12 GPU to be overclocked due to many risk that not only affect warranty (Thanks HTC) and long term usage.

Many devices with Tegra 3 are throttled when heat levels exceed a certain temperature and the device begins throttling it's self to maybe 800 MHZ and/or taking some CPU cores offline to protect from heat damage. There is a solution to this called undervolting, however undervolting can cause long term usage problems and short terms problems that can be fixed with a simple battery pull. For example my old Samsung Captivate when it's undervolted when running @ 800 MHZ it simply crashes but a much higher frequency 1.5 GHZ uses when undervolted has to use less power due to what I believe is caused by the die on the CPU meaning that my phone will crash when undervolting @800MHZ but not at 1.5GHZ no matter how high or low my MV is.

iPhone 5 vs iPhone 4S

The two biggest differences with the iPhone 5 and the 4S are gaming and cellular communications with the iPhone 4S (GSM) only has HSPA+ 14.4 and the iPhone 5 (GSM) has DC-HSDPA+ which has a max of 42.2 megabits and with the support for LTE which in the US makes the AT&T iPhone 5 the perfect phone to purchase unlocked and use on T-Mobile with LTE support. The iPhone 5's CPU which has a much faster instruction set and a PowerVR SGX 543 MP3 GPU which is twice as fast as the iPhone 4S.

Both phones will have at least a two year life span of updates from Apple but as long as devices like the HTC ONE V continue to sell the iPhone 4S and even the iPhone 4 will continue to receive updates from Apple.

WMATA fails

This and the other following post will be pictures of the WMATA Metro Rail and Bus system fails, confusions, and changes that maybe funny to others but can irritate you when you are trying to figure out the Metro Rail system.

< Anything from Fort Tottent Metro Rail station on the Green line was closed.

<Red and Orange line trains have NEVER shared the same track.

Straight Talk data speeds

Well,we know Straight Talk had an AT&T SIM Card which uses AT&T towers, repeaters, and some on the Internet have claimed that they were able to connect to an activated AT&T Microcell. After using Straigh t Talk for quite a while I must say that I'm very pleased with it. Their is one drag back that there is no roaming what so ever. I know some maybe turning down AT&T due to what was previously know as bad coverage, data speeds, etc AT&T has MASSIVELY improved to when you are shopping for a smart phone you choose T-Mobile for data speeds (HSPA+) and AT&T for coverage. Below I have a screenshot of my iPhone 4 on Straight-Talk one speed test I was at a Metro station in Washington DC and the other I was at my school, can you tell which is which?

iPhone color conversions

If you own a black or white iPhone then I want you to know that you can change the colors on your device such as a black phone with a white back or complete color conversions which change the bezel entirely and the front. Please be advised you are doing all modifications at your own risk as I'm not in any way shape or form responsible for what you do. The best thing I recommend getting is a pentalobe screw driver and few very small screw drivers which all can be found on Amazon.com. You can use this if you bought a used device pretty cheap and it has gone through everything then you can change out everything cosmetic on it and make it brand new including the bezel of which holds all of the radios such as Wi-Fi and bluetooth so be careful.

WMATA Bus routes

Now as the our cities become more crowded with more people and all of those people all trying to get something done wether that is productive or just for fun WMATA has a bus route for you to speed up your commute. Wether if you are new to buses or to train the bus system does help as for certain destinations such as Georgetown which cannot be reached by train you can ride the D6 and get off at Georgetown or continue to Sibley hospital. Some destinations can only be reached by bus such as Mount Rainier but if you ride the train often or you just got off the train try catching to as it is free with your SmartTrip card but this is only free from rail to bus transfer not bus to rail. However you want to be advised that certain busses only run is rush hour such as the 97 which is non rush our turns into the 96 which goes to Tenleytwon station and the 97 which goes to Union station.

iOS 6 battery drain!?

After updating my iPhone 4 to iOs 6 I felt a noticeable drain in battery life basic tasks such as phone calls and text messages left me wondering why bother. iOs 6 is known is cause bugs on its devices but work arounds can be done however their is no official fix for battery life. A few things that I have done on my iPhone to save battery life like change applications syncing on iCloud so random syncing and data usage will decrease. Another fix is to remove the pod cast application from your device as this pesky application runs in the background and is far to buggy. Turn off location services as your GPS uses a lot of battery, terminate running applications from your recent apps menu and last remove applications from your notification center.
